The following suggestions are to help you with the design of your badge - and to help us produce the
best quality badges for you.

The single most important thing that will affect the quality of the image is the resolution of the file you send us. It must be at least 300dpi
(or even more) to allow for clear printing of the graphic.
Most images on the web, or that are designed to be viewed on screen, will only be about 72dpi.
While this is fine on screen it simply will not print clearly. |

Remember, really complex, intricate patterns or images tend not to work very well.
Avoid them, and also avoid trying to
fit on lots of words. Simple really does work.
You should
make sure that your design is at least a couple of mm less than the face of the badge, so for a 25mm badge, make sure it's no more than 23mm
and for a 38mm badge ensure it's 36mm or less, so it doesn't fall off the edge.
You should make the background of the design 10mm larger (for 25mm badges) or 12mm larger (for 38mm badges), to allow for the overlap around the edge of the badge.

Everything inside the red circle will be on the face of the badge. DO NOT produce your design with a red circle on it, otherwise this will
also appear! The red circle in the above diagram is just to indicate where the face of the badge ends.

Don't worry about the overall graphic being round. It's only the central image that will be on the face of the badge, so it doesn't matter if the
background it sits on is square (as long as it is big enough) - the corners just get cut off when we fit it to the badge.
As long as you can send the design as a high-quality file, we will do our very best to fit it to the badge for you.
Most people send JPEG files, but we can also deal with most other file types such as tiff or psd. If in doubt, just ask us.
If you don't have a graphic, but have an idea of what you want - or you just want text on a plain background - drop us an email and our friendly design
department will try to help.
